Vice President

Corporate Affairs

           Pharmaceutical - Tri-State Northern NJ  

Our client is a leading global pharmaceutical company based in Northern New Jersey - this is a leadership roles in US Corporate Affairs.   This is an opportunity to have a seat at the table and advise corporate leadership and the communications team on all Corporate, Product Brand, and Government Affairs initiatives.

 Ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic communications programs in supporting how the company engages and communicates with internal and external audiences on corporate brand, product communications and government relations and public policy.   

Must be a strategic thinker and hands-on facilitator.   The successful candidate will be working closely with the key leadership and business Partners in the company on engagement and efficiently communicate and present sophisticated and innovated programs.   Cross-border experience and international awareness is essential.  Will be responsible for managing and overseeing a team of 6 which include corporate, product and advocacy.

Must have a strong understanding of the government platforms at the local, State and National levels.

Experience

  • Demonstrates ability to think strategically and critically and working with key leadership  
  • Ability to manage and implement strategic public relations, corporate communications strategic programs, and communicate with efficient and state of the art communications vehicles both in corporate and product communications.
  • Ability to manage and implement strategic government relations, public affairs and public policy programs and work with key constituents of the medical/pharmaceutical community at the local, State and National levels including and advocacy groups, organizations and government agencies.
  • Bachelor’s/Masters's degree in communications, journalism, political science or public policy, or related field
  • 15+ years experience from and ideally having worked in a pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare company, public relations agency or strategic communications consulting firm that focuses on pharmaceutical (corporate, product, and government relations), as well as  a corporate or industry experience a plus.
  • Strong managerial, writing, research and management skills.
  • Ability to interact with Leadership, vertical business Partners, and employees across the board as well as  heads of advocacy and the patient community and key government agencies.
  • Manage external resources as needed.
